When you enable 2-step authentication, your iStockist account is protected by an additional level of security. You will need to enter both your password and a unique code from your mobile device each time you login. This keeps impersonators out of your account even if they have your password.
Keeping your iStockist account safe is important. If it’s compromised, your secret API keys, customer details, and order information would be vulnerable.
As the account owner, you can enable 2-step authentication for you and your team in your iStockist account. The code is generated by the free Google Authenticator mobile app (available for iOS and Android).
Set up 2-step authentication with Google Authenticator
- Login to your iStockist seller account;
- Click the Account settings icon (cog) at the header, after that, at the left side menu click Users link;
- Select your desired user, under Password & 2-Step authentication click Enable 2-step Authentication.
If you are setting this up for yourself, the next time you log in, you will be asked to download the Google Authenticator app, and to scan the barcode on the screen with the mobile device’s camera. You must then confirm the code that is shown on your device to finish the setup. From then on, each time you log in, you will need to enter the code shown on your device.
The codes are specific to that particular device and cannot be transferred. If you are going to switch to a new phone or wipe your phone, you’ll need to disable 2-step authentication before you do so, then re-enable it using your new phone.
If your mobile device is lost or stolen, contact your account administrator immediately. Without your mobile device, you won’t be able to log in to your iStockist account.
